DETAILS
Aster is an Inari. He is a fox-like Fae with bent legs and an animalistic body. His ethereal and silky fur glows subtly as if radiating the light of the moon, rough dark pads upon Aster's paws contrasting this softness. His claws are filed neatly, exotic symbols of dark red pigments dotting his facade, subtly swirling just beneath perception to draw the eye towards eyes of deep amber. From his spine stretches a long and bushy tailbrush, though it always seems to flit away just before a hand can reach it.
Barely sleeping or eating, Aster wears a tired and sullen gaze propped up by expressive makeup. He never seems to be in any rush, always lost in thought or considering some manner of unusual sensory information.
Often Aster wears a black cloak gilded with a warm gold wreathe of shimmering leaves, alluring the eye with countless native symbols that he has incorporated to pull upon the strings of Ælves.
Aster is a four-tail, but he never splits his tails to show this.

The fur upon Aster is double layered with surprising depth, a pelt that swallows the hand in warmth and pleasure that only an Aesthete as him could achieve. It carries a honeyed scent and taste, though his pads and breath carry the aroma of sandalwood. His saliva tingles and pops with spice like ginger, as every part of him has been carefully construed to delight the senses. Even his nose remains cold and frigid to juxtapose warmth with ice.

Personality
Aster - or how he portrays himself - can be described as a falsely-confident rooster, someone who chases comfort, vanity, and leisure over knowledge and power. His voice is confident and charming, yet rather queer with careful enunciation and a wide span of pitch. He will "tss" and tisk, remarking on the qualities he enjoys. In spite of this, he is a horribly anxious thing with little confidence in his own abilities.
Morality
Aster lives by rules. He will never reveal that he is a Deep One, and he is willing to lie and contrive any number of truths and half-truths to make certain that his secret stays safe.
Although he is Inari, Aster feels guilt over hunting mortals. He gives panacea to their final moments when he can, and leaves them alive until he can artfully process the thought of how they should die. Because of this habit, he is underweight and frail for an Inari in spite of the fact that his fur and Aesthete makes him appear to be in good health beyond a tired gaze.
Romance
Aster has overgrown his Fae inclinations and developed a fickle romantic interest in the artfully gilded or profound. Moreover, he loves to be pet, held onto, and even coddled in any way one can imagine. When he is wearing the skin of Seeming such as donning the guise of a Faelnir, he is averse to being touched and liable to slap the offending hand away. This also applies to sudden squeezes or tugs upon his tail.
Family
Aster is the father of several kits - and more who were culled for crossing their mother - as he was once the consort of Yonakouchi the Night Vixen. His progeny see him as weak, many of them regretting that they are born to his lineage. A few are welcome to have someone capable of lending an ear without manipulation, and without the oppression of authority.
There is a fear within Aster that one day his own children might try to rid themselves of this perceived weakness, but Yonakouchi had made it known that she will devour any who harm her precious tailor.
Given his past, Aster could not care less about his own sire, nor the vixen that spawned him.
When it comes to Alitheia, Aster pretends not to hear, and tries to forget. As he sleeps, his silence is further won by the void god Nihilos tormenting him in his dreams.

HISTORY
Born long ago of Inari within the pleasure districts of Jian, Hataka was the first name Aster had ever known. He grew to seem odd by the standards of Inari, preferring laze and creative exploration to violence - he bribed the Inari of his coven, arranging with them that they should give him livers in exchange for maintaining their wardrobes and outfits. This worked out well for him, until his mother felt otherwise and banished him.
Left to the streets, Aster could not hunt. He went to a dragon who Sought clothing, and enslaved himself perpetually to its wants, and in turn he was given access to freshly slain criminals. However, this was not the life he wanted, and his art was never good enough. Eventually derided and forbade from ever sewing again, he was still a slave, he was treated terribly by the dragon. Misery grew, until he longed for escape with such intensity that he fostered within himself Crest.
Quietly breaking his bonds, Aster cast off the name Hataka for something more starry, and then escaped into the night with several salted livers. He left to explore southward across the deserts, bartering with Rakshasa in Bast. Unable to satisfy with textiles, Aster spent his days assembling Jianese fireworks until he could afford admission to Arcanis. There, he was taught Ensorcelling, and Artifice, and much about the Godheads, their Planes, and Metaphor.
One night Aster wandered for the streets and sought medicine for his loneliness; then did he find the pipe, and in the throes of ecstasy he joined knowledge with feeling to become what was known as a Deep One, Pacting with Triton of Lacon. Unwilling to reveal the vagaries of his nature, and feeling as if the Rakshasa were plotting against him, he left Bast behind and traveled south to Ælheim in search of inspiration to suture a busy mind worn by centuries of life.
Traveling and eating in that Fae land, Aster arrived upon Hæsperia and met the most powerful Inari he had ever known, Yonakouchi. He could not dissuade her from torturing him, and she recurred like a nightmare every time he bent her vile mind and sent her away. She was territorial, and she thought him dangerous in such a way that false memories did not satisfy.
Yonakouchi ruined Aster until she thought his mind broken. The contemptuous Night Vixen stole his Inari's Ball and wove it into herself with dark Arcana he did not understand, to gain an absolute power over him. She named him her consort, and he was made to father kits he could not care less about. It was enough to earn her satisfaction, for he pretended in all ways to be the Inari under her sway. But these events were all half-truths save for their passion, as Aster had already broken the Bond of his Inari's Ball through Crest, and while she did scour him in unspeakable ways, he manufactured mercy within her, and an intimate memory of his silky body yielding to her ripping claws.
Aster knew only the warm side of a monster from that point forward. He gave in, for he could not leave, and he had learned so much of the dark god Nihilos and His cult, Alitheia, that he would die if he ever shed the fetters of being her thrall. It was by choice that he finally settled and built for himself a shoppe of wonders, carefully revealing facets of himself to the sick cabal above him through his talents.
But the nightmare of Nihilos haunts Aster, and rarely anymore does he glean a full night of sleep without waking from the throes of horror.
On the 4th of Summer, year 124 of the Third Age, Yonakouchi was summonsed by some foul plot to Dullahan, and she took their children with her. Before she left, his Inari's Ball was left with the Aelf Haesperide, who in turn immediately surrendered it to her son, Velho. Yet more pretend chains for the fake todd who lived in reservation.
