A gnoll had attacked, but not really. It was a job application in gnoll fashion. When she heard Cae say he had hired the gnoll and his war band, Abraia had wanted to zap him with a spell to knock some sense into him. Gnolls were scum of the earth. Trash, vile, worthy of being slaughtered.
Then she heard about how the gnoll had spared Sjal when she had been so foolish. Heard that this gnoll had every galdr under the sun under his control. That complicated things.
Cae had promised she would make equipment for the gnolls, so she would. Begrudgingly, but still. She would walk over to wherever the gnolls had made their home. She brought with her some lengths of rope to measure them and the best attitude she could muster.
She was slow. She had at least a season left to give an on-time delivery but she was getting big quickly. Two babies lived in her belly.
