However, some folklore suggests that they are harbingers of good luck and fortune if properly appeased with offerings of sweet-smelling herbs or incense.

Skinfairies are commonly found in warm, humid environments such as bedrooms, particularly in mattresses, pillows, and upholstered furniture where dead skin cells, sweat, and other human wastes accumulate.
