Naru had been told to be at this very location by a man who was called "Balor" which was likely a code-name. Apparently he was going around and hiring people to help him gather intel on a person of interest. A teleporting thief was a little difficult to pin down.

The unlikely pair headed to the marketplace and it wasn't long until they found someone suspicious, but it wasn't the Shadow Walker. "I see him," Naru's partner said suddenly after half an hour of searching, "quick, before he gets away!" Naru tried his best to weave his way through the crowd and catch up, but it was not an easy task for someone as weak as himself.

One would probably feel bad for the suspect who Balor was lunging at, for he fell on his back in an attempt to back away from the thug. This all but sealed his fate in which was to be flattened by a man he had never met before in his life. The universe either hated him or the criminal just happened to do something so bad in his past that this was karma's way of saying that payback sucked.

Balor landed on the suspect in such a way that his chest was on its face while his arms were stretched out to grab his shirt. While continuing to hold the said shirt, the thug sat up so that he was squatting with the man's head in between his legs on the floor. "Don't worry folks," Balor shouted, "I'm a guard and I'm just taking this man in for some questioning." It was a lie, but Balor could have passed as an out of uniform guard with the authority his voice commanded. It had all happened so smoothly that nobody seemed to want to get involved.

Naru just looked on in amazement "Here let me help you up." Naru said, offering a hand out to the fallen man. They weren't here to hurt the poor fellow, as far as Naru knew. They just wanted to ask him a few questions. Naru and Balor would pull the criminal to the side of the street and stop holding onto him when it was clear that he wasn't going to run away. Naru wanted to freak out, but right now it was time to get serous and get the questioning out of the way... but the man didn't want to talk unless they bested him in an arm wrestling contest.

Naru couldn't believe what he was hearing. This day could not get any stranger. Before Naru could get a word out, his partner ran to grab a spare table and got ready for the match. Naru looked at the criminal, gave a slight grin, and said, "I think we accept." Naru wasn't quite sure how interrogations were supposed to go, but this definitely wasn't what he had imagined. "Whatever, so long as I can get this over with."

"Alright," the criminal said as he leaned a bit towards his opponent and stretched out his fingers a bit, "I'm ready whenever you are." The two kneeled at a table, looking very out of place in the bustling street. The only thing preventing people bumping into them was Balor's massive figure that made people wall around. Before the two started, Balor would say, "it's up to you then. Just know that you'll be answering to the boss if you lose." This only served to fuel Naru's uneasiness. He looked moderately strong but in reality he was as weak as they came.

The criminal grasped Naru's hand and waited for his opponent to start applying pressure. Naru tried with all his might, but he knew that this was a lost cause from the get-go. The criminal smirked and slammed Naru's arm to the table using all of his strength. Naru's entire arm throbbed with pain that slowly subsided. The criminal got to his feet and darted out into the street, fearing he'd be chased. Balor, however, did not give chase. He merely squatted down next to Naru and asked, "well, did you get it?"

Naru looked at Balor curiously, "What? The only thing I got was a lot of pain!"

"A clue you dummy!"

Naru rolled his eyes and massaged his arm. They were getting nowhere.

Grade:

Summary: I thought I had inspiration to do a whole thread about the shadow walker thread from Naru's point of view but I ran out of steam. Just made this a dream about Naru chasing down a suspect.
