Description:
Known as the foxes of the sky, these white furred creatures spend their days frolicking in the clouds. They are very aloof and care free due to a lack of predators and having an easy source of food. They are close friends of dragons and like to hitch rides on the backs of dragons as they fly across the sky.
Cultural Significance:
They are seen as friends of the dragons and so they are respected in Jian. When dragons fight in the sky they tend not to use their breath weapons through clouds to avoid accidentally killing a Kazesune.
Habitat:
Clouds, specifically in Jian's sky due to the concentration of dragons.
Size:
Their size can vary between the size of a normal field fox to the size of an elephant. Regardless, most of their mass is comprised of aeris so they are very light creatures.
Biome Role:
They prey on birds that fly near or through clouds.
Life Cycle:
They mate frequently and throughout the year but their birth rate is nearly identical to their death rate, leading to a stable population. Several are born at once and their mother cares for them for the first couple years of life. They reach adulthood at five and live to be fifteen.
Resources:
They have a special organ called an aerisart which is located adjacent to their heart. It is what gives them the ability to use their beast magic. This can be harvested and used to make items lightweight.
