The Moonflower Clan: A Tapestry of Beauty, Strength, and Alliance

Overview

The Moonflower clan considers themselves a "Royal" class in Jian. They thrive and coexist alongside the Futorisugi clan in the abundant land of Hatairu. In the center of their picturesque home where the borders of the two clans converge, exists the Moonshadow Glen. Renown for its unparalleled beauty, their village; often called a sanctuary is an amalgamation of tranquility, and peace. The Moonflower seeks respite and a deep connection with Xie Chuitian.

A Tapestry of Blossoms and Trees

Moonshadow Glen is adorned in an ocean of Sakura-Trees, lengthy wind-swept grass, and pink petals. The trees form a canopy, with sunlight illuminating the leaves in soft patterns. The sweet aromatics of Sakura petals combine with the soil, making the air feel alive; giving the residents feelings of warmth, and peace.

Dancing Grass and Serene Waters

Walking through the Glen one will be surrounded by lengthy grass, fluttering about in the sustained breeze. The sound of pristine crystal-clear waterfalls flowing over stone, and a soft mist somewhat lowers visibility. Fish frequently dart beneath the surface, and loom in the shallows.

A Hub of Training and Fellowship

The Glen also acts as a "Sacred Ground" for both Futorisugi and Moonflower. Here, they converge to sharpen their swordsmanship, and battle tactics. The Sakura-Tree petals descending from above add a scenic area to battle in. The cacophonous sound of colliding blades mixes with the whispers of nature.

Shared Moments and Cultural Exchange

Not only is The Glen a military outpost; it is a gathering place for ritualistic sacrifice, and cultural exchange. Tales of battle are told whilst captured prisoners of war are executed, tortured, or forced to join the Clans. The Futorisugi and Moonflower partake in joint-operations to defend their lands. The bond between these two clans is strong; like the roots, and petals of Xie Chuitian.

Twilight Reflections

At dusk, Moonshadow Glen takes on a breathtaking appearance; one of mystical proportions. The great blue dome painted with oyster-white hues transitions into a deep azure, crimson, and orange. The outer alchemy of the mighty Xie Chuitian has shaped the land. Lanterns, torches, and candles come alight and guide the way for those who elect to train or relax in the cover of night. Even as the night falls, a sense of peace remains in the air.

A Sanctuary of Peace and Strength

Moonshadow Glen is a place where the beauty of nature melds perfectly with the strength of martial discipline. It's a sanctuary where the Futorisugi and Moonflower clans come together to train, celebrate, and find peace. Here, surrounded by the delicate beauty of cherry blossoms and the strength of the earth, the unity between clans shines brightest.

Structure of the Moonflower Clan

The Moonflower Clan is structured more like a large family than a rigid hierarchy. Each member is bonded by loyalty and honor, seeing one another as kin. Here's a breakdown of their leadership and roles:

  • Getsukage: The Moonflower clan is led by only the most fearsome, graceful, elegant, and level-headed mind among the ranks. Being called by the name "Getsukage" commands respect; due to the competitive, honor-bound nature of the clan. To achieve such a rank one must be an unparalleled warrior and a savant-level diplomat. They must externally defend the clan, and its' allies with relentless fervor. Whilst they keep internal feuds from taking place and destabilizing the clan. It is a position in which no honor-duel requested may be rejected, for fear of destroying one's reputation.

Council of Elders: These are the most battle-hardened combat-proficient warriors and wise leaders of the council. They are the advisors of the Getsukage, and preserve the traditions of old. They provide guidance, and teaching to the clan's youth. They teach the Moonflower rhetoric, ensuring every action taken by the clan aligns with their culture.

Moonflower Sentinels: The Sentinels are an elite, small group that serves as the Getsukage's royal guard. They are recognized as some of the best warriors in all of Jian. Selected one by one and handpicked by the Getsukage herself. They undergo years of training and are veterans on the field of battle. They will take on covert operations and protect their Commander with their lives. There are only twelve of these individuals in existence

Warriors and Huntresses: These are the core fighters of the clan, skilled in swordsmanship and archery. They frequently engage in Honor Duels, upholding the clan's values. Many also hunt to provide food for the clan, showcasing their tracking skills and further proving their prowess.

Gatherers and Healers: These members collect herbs, food, and medicines, playing a crucial role in the clan's survival. Their deep knowledge of the local flora allows them to craft remedies and potions, making them highly respected for their contributions to the clan's health and well-being.

Cultural Practices

The Moonflower Clan is rich in tradition, with cultural practices that reinforce their identity. Rituals and celebrations bind the clan together, strengthening their sense of family and honor.

Honor Duels: Disputes within the clan are settled through ceremonial honor duels, where combatants prove their strength and resolve. These duels are more than just fights—they are sacred events where skills are tested, and bonds are either solidified or broken. Spectators gather to witness these events, which uphold the clan's values of respect and strength.

Floral Festivals: The cherry blossom bloom is the most revered time of year for the clan. During the spring, the village becomes a sea of color, as lanterns and decorations celebrate the beauty of nature. Dance, music, and feasting bring the community together in gratitude for another season of growth and renewal. The air is filled with the scent of flowers, as lanterns light the night sky with a warm, peaceful glow.

Alliance with the Futo Clan

The alliance between the Moonflower and Futo clans is one of mutual respect, with both clans recognizing the other's strengths and values. Their bond has been forged over time, growing from a place of shared goals and battles fought side by side.

  • Shared Values: Both clans honor strength, skill, and loyalty above all. The Moonflower Clan admires the physical endurance and resilience of the Futo Clan, while the Futo Clan respects the Moonflower's grace and strategic mind. Together, they embody a formidable partnership.
Military Collaboration: When tensions rise or threats approach, the two clans often combine forces in joint training exercises and military endeavors. These collaborations strengthen their alliance and enhance their combat prowess, allowing them to stand as a united front against their enemies.
Cultural Exchange: Beyond military might, the clans have found strength in sharing their cultural practices. Festivals, shared celebrations, and joint feasts reinforce their bond, allowing members of both clans to forge lasting friendships and understand one another on a deeper level.
The Moonflower Clan, with its blend of elegance, honor, and fierce loyalty, stands as a testament to the strength found in balance. Within Moonshadow Glen, the heart of the clan beats in harmony with nature and the traditions that bind them. Through their alliance with the Futo Clan and their commitment to protecting their people, they remain a powerful force, ensuring that their legacy will continue to flourish in the lush, vibrant land of Hatairu. In unity, they find resilience, and together they build a future where honor and beauty coexist in perfect harmony.

影Moonflower Getsukage影

Tsukihana Xie — "The Blossoming Blade of Moonflower"
Like her Mother, she is heavily guarded by Dryads. They provide her with medication, protection using their abilities, and act as a spy network within the Region.
The current Getsukage of the Moonflower Clan, Tsukihana Xie (月花謝), is the perfect combination of beauty, strength, and ancient power. She stands at 5'11" and weighs 180 pounds, she has a statuesque, lean frame with lengthy, flowing gossamer-thin black hair that enhances her idiosyncratic appearance. She is the only daughter of the ancient Xie Chūntiān. Despite her half-dragon lineage, Tsukihana maintains a short-statured humanoid appearance, with her Jianese lineage subtly manifesting in her regal demeanor and commanding presence.

She is drop-dead gorgeous and because of this prefers to isolate herself in her Palace. Atop the highest mountain peak in The Glen. As not to distract any of her subordinates. Rarely, but when she is not on the front lines of battle; she indulges in drinking warm herbal teas and deeply meditates. Despite her awe-striking appearance that would throb the heart of any man. Tsukihana Xie is called the blossoming blade because of her swordsmanship. Legend has it that her skill is unmatched, making her a formidable opponent in duels, and larger battles. One has never so much as cut a strand of hair from her head.

Tsukihana Xie is the embodiment of the Moonflower Clan itself—elegant and serene on the surface, but capable of overwhelming power when provoked.

Reputation

Tsukihana Xie, as the Getsukage of the Moonflower Clan, holds a multifaceted reputation among the other clans in Jian. Her reputation is built on several key aspects:
Tsukihana is renowned as the most skilled swordfighter in all of Jian. Her unparalleled grace, beauty, and intellect have earned her respect, even among adversaries. Beyond her martial skills, Tsukihana is known for her indomitable intellect and grace. She is responsible for maintaining the complex relationship between the Futo and Moonflower. She knows the Hoshikage well. Her diplomatic efforts, relentless pursuit of peace, and prestige have allied with the Futo. They have united in order to defeat their common enemies; The Shuu, and Huo Clans.
