Owned By: Hespæride, Caelum Enterprise Tier: National Purpose: To create Dragon-Touched humans that will serve AElheim Location: Edge of the Firelands
Description:
Situated in the firelands surrounding an AElheim Sequoia is a town called 'Paradise' that houses well over ten thousand. The town itself is surrounded by a wall with a singular gate, reaching about ten feet high and is made of AEtumetal, a necessary precaution against the numerous Luxium elementals and monsters that roam the surrounding area.
The Sequoia acts as housing for the more important members of the town with Caelum the Dragon of Fertility at the top 'floor.' There are numerous housing facilities scattered around the town along with many businesses/services one might expect from a circular economy. The town is segregated into three distinct sections: the pregnant, those who have children, and those who are neither.
The bulk of the inhabitants are female humans or direct descendants of Caelum himself. There are some aelves about, mostly acting as added security, or contractors who are fulfilling a need in the community. The women who live there all wear Caettle Wreath tiaras as a uniform of sorts. There is an abundance of this plant grown all over the town which stimulates feelings of happiness and contentment.
The town is seen as a desirable place for humans to live on a national level. While in Paradise, humans are considered under Caelum's protection which excludes them from being hunted by aelves, sacrificed, etc. Additionally, the amount of work they have to do is minimal. Caelum's grove produces enough food for all to live off of. No woman is forced to do any labor, aside from having / taking care of children, but many still choose to do something to fill their time. There is the expectation that residents worship Caelum as thanks for their quality of life.
Because it's such a desirable place to live, there is a rigorous selection process to filter out prospective and even current residents based on several factors, including their fertility, appearance, and loyalty. There is typically a waitlist to move in as few fail to maintain the required factors to maintain residency.
Leadership:
Caelum's authority as the leader of Paradise is afforded to him by the permission of the aelves, who see value in the mass production of dragon-touched humans
Abraia, somewhat of a right-hand woman to Caelum, is revered for her beautiful craftsmanship and ability to make the right decision. Most major decisions go through her
Flora, Caelum's adopted daughter turned assistant, runs the town at a high level
Aelves are few in number but keep an eye on things. Some act as high-end guards while others spy on Caelum's operation.
Visiting Paradise:
While technically closed off from outside influence, the town has grown large enough to the point that not everyone can be accounted for. The general policy is that as long as one seems to have a legitimate reason to be there and doesn't cause trouble, they can visit. The most common reasons for visitors are:
Visiting friends/family members
To request the services of Abraia, the Grandmaster Crafter
To meet with Caelum, the Dragon of Fertility
Note: the AElheim Sequoia is generally off-limits to visitors.
Goods/Services: There are some benefits to interacting with this town.
Dragon-touched humans: The obvious byproduct of such an operation is dragon-touched humans. If one is wanted for their Grist glamour organ, arrangements can be made.
Humans: The vast majority of inhabitants are beautiful, fertile women. It is not unheard of for these women to be coerced into leaving Paradise for greener grass or simply purchased against their will.
