Role for Saru Clan: Trickster Ancient Dragon
Pàng Dōngtiān is the most rotund and enigmatic of all ancient dragons, her immense form casting long shadows over the frozen peaks of Dongji, far to the east of Jian. Her massive body, covered in thick, dull-gray scales that faintly shimmer in the cold light, drapes heavily over the land, and when she moves, it is with a thunderous grace that shakes the mountains. Her belly nearly touches the snow, and her golden eyes, sharp and calculating, gleam with an almost playful malice. Though her appearance invites mockery from some, there is nothing weak about this ancient being.
She hides within the most remote mountains of Dongji, her slumber having blanketed the entire region in eternal winter. The biting cold, fierce blizzards, and ice-choked landscapes are all manifestations of her Outer Alchemy, an ancient magic that transforms not only the environment but also the beings that fall under her influence. Dongji remains a desolate, frozen wasteland due to her presence, with even time seeming to move slower in her icy domain.
Though Pàng Dōngtiān does not live in Koyomi, where the Saru Clan resides, she is their Trickster Ancient Dragon. The Saru revere her as their guiding deity, and her mischievous, gluttonous nature resonates deeply with their way of life. Her Outer Alchemy, though concentrated in Dongji, reaches the Saru, warping their appearance over generations. Most of the Saru have taken on the traits of monkeys—long, nimble limbs, quick reflexes, and a mischievous spirit—reflecting Pàng's divine influence. She revels in this transformation, enjoying the chaos and cunning her followers embody.
The Saru Clan, known for their love of trickery, theft, and subterfuge, embody her chaotic and gluttonous energy. Though hidden from the rest of Jian, her influence guides their every move. Pàng Dōngtiān's devotees indulge in feasts and pranks, believing their excess brings them closer to her divine favor. In Saru culture, she is seen not just as a god of transformation but also as the ultimate trickster, guiding their cunning ways from afar.
