Curiosity– a universal trait of any long lived entity which still finds any joy in drawing breath.

Many have wondered the query: how close are Rakshasa to actual cats? Will they fall for the same tricks? And if yes, for what reason? Surely, such intelligent creatures know that they are being toyed with– so then one asks, how powerful a motivator is their curiosity? Few have tested this, either because tracking down a Rakshasa outside of their desert bastions is a tricky affair or…well, simply because they value their lives over toying with such eldritch entities.

And so it was on a hot summer day that Postmaster was slinking home, whether by paw or by his Apparation’s Drift, that he’d spot a strange, shimmering door in the woods. Who’d planted this there? Most Exodii did not simply leave their pathways open.

If he were to pause and peruse this shining passageway, he’d see infinite reflections within it; myriad kaleidoscopic colors which yielded no clear image. Yet if he looked down to where it connected with the earth, he’d see a shoddy facsimile of a mouse sitting on the floor. If Postmaster were caught observing this little creation, it’d shake for a moment, and then be pulled through that ephemeral door with a swift, jerking motion.

The question, now: would Postmaster be tempted enough by his curiosity to follow it?
