Sjal was sweating profusely by the time Abraia showed up. "Okay, water," she said between heavy breaths. She sheathed her sword and ran over to the well. Minutes later she was back with two buckets of water. She dumped them in, one after another, effectively flooding the hole with a lot of water at once.
It worked.
The rabbit leapt out from the hole, jumping higher than Sjal stood as it tried to bounce away. Sjal was ready though. She drew her sword and slashed at it in midair. She rolled in the direction the rabbit's momentum carried it, stabbing it as soon as it hit the ground.
Her movements were perfectly executed even though she'd never done this exact series of slashes and stabs before. Her inaccuracy with her sword would be evident by the quality of the cuts. She still hadn't killed the rabbit even though that had been her intention. She felt the urge to drive her sword one more time into it, this time in its head, but she figured it was probably fortunate for the rabbit to not be dead – yet.
"Should I end it? I think you said you needed it alive… I don't know exactly how father's magic works but… I think it would be usable in this state? If not then he could just heal it."
